The German school (Deutsche Schule Nairobi) in Nairobi was founded in 1969 and belongs to the network of 140 recognized German schools outside Germany. Following the philosophy of an integrated approach the school has since many years established and successful soccer teams of different ages with kids from the German school but also kids from neighborhoods around. Also regular tournaments and matches are organized with schools from slums in Babadogo, Kiambu, Githogoro, Matha etc. Like almost everywhere in the world, also in Nairobi soccer connects people: Kids with different colors and from very different cultural and social backgrounds fight, play, celebrate and suffer together on the soccer field. Furthermore a considerable number of the African soccer kids have managed to go successfully through the admission process for getting a scholarship with the German school in the past years. The idea for this project is that you collect used soccer boots from Europe that your kids do not use any more and then send them to a central address in Germany (first need). From this Central address (second need for coordination of dispatch and logistics) the boots will be shipped to my Post Box in Nairobi (Michael Loose, PO 2303-00621, Village Market, Nairobi 00100). The financing the shipment cost is a third need for this project. I will pick up the boots in Nairobi and we will then distribute these through the sports manager or the coaches of the other clubs to the kids that are not yet equipped with proper soccer boots. These various needs are described in the category "needs" under this project. Asanti sana and many thanks. Michael Loose for the Sports Committee of German School Nairobi
